My Heroine
I’ve been reading various takes on the three women photo going around. I largely agree with many of the comments made, for example by ladawn and inthefade here or indefensible here.
I’m delighted that so many folks can separate their own self-images from what they see around them, or what they are constantly asked (by advertising, models, “Holywood,” etc.) to see as the ideal typeform—though color me skeptical that it’s a perfect separation, or something everyone can accomplish.
So with that, an photographic example of someone who’s nowhere near a classical image of female beauty doing the same. The photo, large as she is, doesn’t seem terribly unusual. Not long ago, the Wife and I were on a clothing-optional beach on the Spanish island of Ibzia. A woman who looked quite like this was there, completely nude. She swam, sunbathed, played catch with a beachball, and otherwise seemed completely unconcerned that others could be making “Save the whales! Harpoon a fat chick!” jokes about her. A great life-lesson, not just for “average sized” folk, but everyone. IMHO, of course.

Right ON! This woman is beautiful.
